الملخص

تتطلب غالبية محطات معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي المركزية في الدول منخفضة الدخل إعادة تأهيل أو تجديد خلال العقد المقبل. في معظم الحالات، تولّد هذه المحطات أعباء مالية طويلة الأمد على الحكومات والإدارات المحلية. لذلك، يبدو أن اللامركزية حلاً مناسبًا، حيث تشير إلى أنظمة تخدم مناطق صغيرة من الحضر استنادًا إلى الهيدرولوجيا والتضاريس والاعتبارات البيئية المحلية. تعزز المعالجة اللامركزية المستدامة المعالجة في الموقع وإعادة استخدام المواد، بما يساهم في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، لا سيما الهدف السادس (SDG6) – المياه النظيفة والصرف الصحي.

تعد تقنية المرشح الهوائي البيولوجي (BAF) جذابة وملائمة كنظام لمعالجة مياه الصرف الصحي اللامركزية، حيث تسمح بإزالة المواد الكربونية والمواد المغذية عن طريق نمو الكتلة الحيوية على سطح وسائط الدعم، بالإضافة إلى الإزالة الفيزيائية للمواد الصلبة العالقة في مرحلة واحدة. يمكن استخدامها أيضًا للمعالجة الثانوية والمرحلة الثلاثية من مياه الصرف.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى مراجعة أداء ثلاث وسائل ترشيح: الفحم النشط، الرمل، والمواد الخزفية، جميعها مستخدمة كمناطق نمو مرفقة في المرشحات الهوائية البيولوجية، لإنشاء أحواض ترشيح حيوي منخفضة التكلفة وتحسين جودة المياه المعالجة. أظهرت النتائج أن جميع الأحواض الثلاثة القائمة على وسائل الترشيح أدت أداءً ممتازًا في إزالة المواد الكربونية وعملية النترجة عند زمن احتجاز هيدروليكي 12 ساعة مع إعادة تدوير 100% من المياه الداخلة.
